Cobie Smulders Weighs In On A ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Reunion For ‘The IMDb Show’

Cobie Smulders is the latest celeb to drop by “The IMDb Show” to take a wander through her various acting credits over the years.

For fans of the Vancouver-born actress, chief among these is “How I Met Your Mother”, in which she portrayed Robin Scherbatsky (and, occasionally, Canadian pop star alter ego Robin Sparkles) for nine seasons.

When host Tim Kash reads her a fan’s Twitter question about the possibility of on “HIMYM” reunion, she revealed she’s open to the idea — just not right away.

“I’ll always miss it. It was the best job I think I’ll ever have,” she said. “I miss the people. I miss our crew and I miss our cast, and I miss seeing them every day.”

As for the chances of a reunion, she explained, “I mean, I think it’s too soon. We did the show for nine years, which is such an insane accomplishment for our writers, our crew, all the actors, and it felt like enough; it felt like we did it and we set out to tell this story and we were able to complete it the way the creators wanted to complete it, but I would have liked to milk things more, but you do what you can do and I hope that people now when they watch it, they can appreciate that more.”

Meanwhile, being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been keeping her busy, and she also discussed reprising the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.

“I’m still recovering from the snaps and I think we’re all still recovering from these huge movies,” she admitted. “I shot the first ‘Avengers’ movie — when I auditioned for it, I didn’t even know the character I was playing. I was just given a scene that Joss Whedon had written, which was like female agent, and my husband [“SNL” alum Taran Killam], who is such a crazy Marvel fan, was like, ‘Oh, it’s the Wasp!’ He was making guesses, and I was able to roll the dice being Maria Hill. For me, it’s been such a great role because I get to sort of be a part of it and internally watch this evolution, but just be able to pop in and kind of seek these little moments out — and get invited to the premieres!”

In fact, the 37-year-old actress is surprisingly pragmatic about the role Maria plays in the MCU. “I think she’s certainly providing information,” she added. “I always make jokes where it’s like, ‘Hey, audience… this is what’s just happened, this is what we need to achieve, and this is what we’re hoping to do. Okay, superheroes back in.'”

Meanwhile, Smulders will next be seen starring in ABC drama “Stumptown”, playing a scrappy PI in Portland, Oregon.
