Liam Payne will be spending Christmas with his ex Cheryl and baby Bear

They may be broken up but Liam Payne and Cheryl will be spending Christmas together this year, he’s confirmed.
The singer, 26, revealed his excitement at seeing their son Bear on the big day as this is the first year that the two-year-old will really know what’s going on.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning today, Liam said he couldn’t wait to see if Bear will enjoy unwrapping his presents as last time around he didn’t know what they were.

He explained: “I’m going to go down and see Bear, maybe cook Christmas dinner , see the family… It’s the first time he really gets Christmas now.

“I want to see if he really gets unwrapping presents this year.

“Otherwise it’ll just be Cheryl by the tree again. I can really remember it from last year, she wrapped them all up and I was just sat there going ‘Right, what is this?'”

Liam also spoke candidly about turning to drink when One Direction split up.

He said he went to therapy and stopped drinking for a year, which helped him deal with the huge change.

Liam continued: “I went through a number of different bits of therapy and whatever else.

“I think as ‘Strip That Down’ came out I was almost as afraid of the success as I was of the failure, which isn’t a very comfortable place to be in life, because you’re not really sure what you’re doing…

“So I went away, I had a little bit of a thing with drink and it was a guy called Chip Somers who got me sober.

“I was sober for about a year and went and visited Russell Brand actually, which was quite amazing.

“We went down to meetings together and spoke about different things and it was just quite nice.

“I think for anybody out there who’s having a problem with mental health or something and that struggle, the best thing is to just go and speak to someone.

“If you go through it by yourself, you’re your own soundboard. And we’re all just as crazy as the next person. You need someone to validate your experience almost.”
