Ben Affleck took Lindsay Shookus on vacation to save their relationship, reveals In Touch. The outlet reports now all is well again after their make-or-break “romantic getaway” last month in Puerto Rico.
What was the problem? The publication notes the “slow process of Ben’s divorce” from Jennifer Garner was “starting to ’cause friction’ in the relationship.” Explains a source, “Ben and Jen are still in the process of dividing assets. Ben went out of his way to ease Lindsay’s mind by whisking her away — and now they’re back on track.”
“They wanted to switch off from the outside world and just enjoy each other’s company,” shares the tipster, who concludes they are “madly in love” and “still going strong.” Curiously, nothing is said about the couple getting married and having a baby, which was the narrative the tabloid put forth a month ago. At that time, it was pointed out that Shookus was still legally wed, too.
Here’s what’s really going on now: Because Affleck and Shookus were spotted in Puerto Rico, the tabloid manufactured a backstory for the trip, and threw in a few lines about relationship problems to make it sensational and dramatic. But, as Gossip Cop revealed, the real reason they traveled to the island was because Affleck was shooting his latest movie, The Last Thing He Wanted, there. The trip had nothing to do with saving their relationship. Once again, In Touch proves to be out of touch.
