The 39-year-old actress \u2014 who is already mom to 5-year-old son Cyrus Michael Christopher with husband Hugh Dancy \u2014 announced on The Howard Stern Show Wednesday that she\u2019s \u201cseriously preggo.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m deep into my second trimester,\u201d she confessed, admitting that this was her official announcement.<\/p>\n
The topic came up while discussing Danes doing a nude scene in Homeland, and Stern said he would be self-conscious about his body in that position.<\/p>\n
\u201cWas this planned or are we having a surprise?\u201d Stern asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, this was planned,\u201d she replied. \u201cWe\u2019ve been wanting another kid for a while, and it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
Danes said she was going to keep the sex of the baby a secret, joking that she could name the baby after Stern \u2014 \u201cHowardina\u201d if it\u2019s a girl.<\/p>\n
Danes opened up about the challenges of being a parent in the October 2014 issue of Harper\u2019s Bazaar UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing a mum is incredibly challenging, but we still feel a pressure to talk about it in very romantic terms. And it\u2019s not just that,\u201d she said, according to E! News. \u201cWe all have that resentment at times and anxiety about being trapped by the role, that responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then chemically it can run riot \u2026 And there\u2019s no \u2018off\u2019 button. [For me] that was the hardest adjustment,\u201d she added. \u201cYou always feel beholden to somebody \u2026 And for so long they\u2019re like koala bears, you just feel a physical responsibility to be there for them to cling to.
