Jodie lovingly allowed me to walk my own path and when I finally humbled myself to ask for your help, I realized that the perky little blabbermouth had become the master of wisdom and was right by my side during some of the most difficult days of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Sweetin organized 12-step meetings for Stamos at his house and on the set of \u201cFuller House.\u201d \u201cThank god, my wife and my new son will only know me as a sober husband and father,\u201d Stamos said. \u201cThis is Jodie\u2019s legacy in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Sweetin returned the praise. \u201cJohn, I\u2019m so proud of you and it\u2019s been the greatest thing to watch someone that you love have the light come back on again,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Sweetin also pointed to her parents sitting in the front row. \u201cThe biggest thanks I want to give is my mom and dad,\u201d she said. \u201cTo say that I am grateful to them is a word and a feeling far too small for what they gave me and the patience and the understanding and the unconditional love that it took to get me on this journey. You guys never gave up and you never told me I was bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Also in the audience were about 20 of Sweetin\u2019s friends. \u201cWhen we are out there using and active in our addiction, we don\u2019t get that luxury,\u201d she said. \u201cWe don\u2019t get that luxury of having so many people love us because we don\u2019t love ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The evening was hosted by\u00a0<strong>Ed Begley Jr.<\/strong>\u00a0and featured appearances by\u00a0<strong>Mackenzie Phillips <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Joanna Cassidy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Stamos\u00a0credits his \u201cFuller House\u201d co-star\u00a0Jodie Sweetin\u00a0with helping him get sober.
