Did\u00a0Whiskey Cavalier<\/em>\u00a0ever have a chance at a second season? Recently, ABC boss Karey Burke explained why the network briefly reconsidered the TV show\u2019s cancellation,\u00a0TVLinereports.<\/p>\n

The drama series centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Scott Foley), codename: \u201cWhiskey Cavalier\u201d and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan), codename: \u201cFiery Tribune.\u201d Although they start off as rivals, they\u2019re soon assigned to a joint-agency task force to root out corruption and crime and save the world.\u00a0<\/em>The cast also includes Ana Ortiz, Tyler James Williams, Vir Das, and Josh Hopkins.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year,\u00a0ABC\u00a0cancelled\u00a0Whiskey Cavalier<\/em>\u00a0after one season only to reconsider the decision before ultimately canceling the series. Speaking to TVLine, ABC boss Karey Burke said the network considered bringing the show back because of an email written by executive producer Bill Lawrence:<\/p>\n

He was just so deeply passionate about it. He put his heart and soul into it. And he just asked us to take one last look. And we\u00a0really<\/em>\u00a0did.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, Burke said a second season of\u00a0Whiskey Cavalier<\/em>\u00a0was just to difficult to justify given the show\u2019s low ratings:<\/p>\n

It was tough [to justify] financially [and] ratings-wise. We ultimately just decided to bet on the future.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
