<\/p>\nZooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik are calling it quits after four years of marriage.<\/p>\n

“After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners,” Deschanel, 39, and Pechenik, 47, said in a joint statement to USA TODAY Friday.<\/p>\n
The former “New Girl” star and Pechenik tied the knot in June 2015, just a month before welcoming their first child, daughter Elsie, 4. They also share two-year-old son Charlie.<\/p>\n
Deschanel and Pechenik also founded two businesses together: The Farm Project, which aims to reconnect people with their food, and Lettuce Grow, which helps people grow fresh produce from home.<\/p>\n
