For some reason, Sharpay was trending on Twitter on Monday (Sept. 15). For those who need a refresh, Sharpay Evans was Ashley Tisdale’s fabulous popular girl character in Disney Channel’s\u00a0High School Musical\u00a0<\/em>franchise.<\/p>\n

The social media throwback today seemed to have stemmed from\u00a0an unearthed video of Sharpay and her brother Ryan performing “What I’ve Been Looking For”\u00a0as their winter musical audition song in the 2006 film. The clip got tens of thousands of retweets, and an influx of support for Sharpay, who was portrayed as the villain in the movie.<\/p>\n

“Sharpay wasn\u2019t the villain she put her blood sweat and tears into theater and didn\u2019t want someone who wasn\u2019t all about it to take her crown especially two people who wasn\u2019t even reliable to show up,” one user wrote. As a reminder, Zac Efron’s Troy and Vanessa Hudgens’ Gabriella were late to their final musical audition because of other after-school activities.<\/p>\n
