Considering the book it’s based on had such a definitive ending, it’s unlikely that\u00a0Looking for Alaska\u00a0<\/em>will return for Season 2\u00a0\u2014 especially since it’s being billed as a limited series. The show follows John Green’s 2005 novel closely, and by the time the credits roll, its story feels resolved. However, for those enamored with the mild-mannered Miles Halter (aka Pudge) and his ragtag, prank-pulling group of friends, not all hope is lost.\u00a0Big Little Lies<\/em>\u00a0Season 1 was based on Liane Moriarty’s 2014 novel, and yet still \u2014 after much contention \u2014 managed to find a way to expand the story into Season 2. The same can be said for Hulu’s adaptation of\u00a0The Handmaid’s Tale,\u00a0<\/em>which covered the entirety of Margaret Atwood’s original book in Season 1 but recently finished its third season (Season 4 premieres in 2020). And it seems like Green is open to the idea of continuing the show.<\/p>\n

“I would not be super-interested in\u00a0participating [in a second season]. (I also think it’s very unlikely),” the author wrote during a 2018 Reddit AMA. “But one shouldn’t say never. Who knows. Maybe Season 2 would be the story of Pudge joining a ninth tier English soccer team called AFC Wimbledon that’s just beginning to work their way up through the leagues in what will within nine years be the greatest comeback story in the history of sports.”<\/p>\n
