In a post captioned with, \u201cLife Isn\u2019t Always What It Seems,\u201d Benoist shared her story of purported abuse.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Melissa-Benoist-of-Supergirl-is-a.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-49789\" src=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Melissa-Benoist-of-Supergirl-is-a.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Melissa-Benoist-of-Supergirl-is-a.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Melissa-Benoist-of-Supergirl-is-a-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Melissa-Benoist-of-Supergirl-is-a-768x512.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In the IG video, the \u201cSupergirl\u201d star dished on her experiences with physical and emotional abuse in a former relationship which started with jealous phone-searching and turned into violence in a short period of time. The star claimed it all went down in the span of just five months.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to Benoist, claims a report from Entertainment Tonight, the man she dated would look through her phone and other devices and would become enraged when discovering she had spoken to other men. \u201cWork, in general, was a touchy subject,\u201d the actress remarked.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B5YXu8oHkzn\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=12&amp;wp=550&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fcelebrityinsider.org&amp;rp=%2Fsupergirls-melissa-benoist-is-a-domestic-violence-survivor-345559%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A2857.4399999997695%2C%22ls%22%3A1767.0949999956065%2C%22le%22%3A2066.464999996242%7D\" height=\"876\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Paraphrasing what Melissa had to say, the man she referred to had an issue with her touching, kissing, or even having flirtatious interactions with other men on set. The star claimed it was quite difficult for her to avoid such situations because of her job.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As a result, she would often have to turn down particular auditions, friendships, test deals, as well as job offers because she didn\u2019t want to make her man jealous. Furthermore, Melissa claims she was left with a torn iris one evening as well as a ruptured eyeball.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To explain away many of her injuries, Melissa had to come up with stories with her man to avoid problems, one of which she told during her interview with Jimmy Fallon back in 2016. One evening, however, she fought back and quickly found out that violence leads to more violence.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The\u00a0<em>Supergirl<\/em>\u00a0actress claimed she had become \u201clivid\u201d at all of the things that happened, and a person inside her she never knew existed came to the forefront.
