In a 2013 study, CareerBuilder\u00a0surveyed\u00a02099 hiring managers and human resources representatives. The study found that 25 percent of them think that not only is orange the worst color to wear to an interview, it\u2019s also most likely to be associated with a lack of professionalism.<\/p>\n<div id=\"bingadsoneclick\" class=\"bingadsoneclick\" dir=\"ltr\" data-id=\"115\" data-m=\"{&quot;i&quot;:115,&quot;p&quot;:113,&quot;n&quot;:&quot;bingadsoneclick&quot;,&quot;y&quot;:8,&quot;o&quot;:2}\" data-apikey=\"ARA1Y%2fM3%2bgKOKflGjS7fJeI2cBf6P9L2uqfQTAS9v3aNzjbV3ghwNsRodACrCoDn6xc%3d\" data-pagetype=\"article\"><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to CareerBuilder\u2019s chief people officer, Michelle Armer, you don\u2019t want your clothes to distract interviewers from what you\u2019re actually saying.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe goal of any interview is to communicate what unique value you bring to the company and its culture,\u201d Armer\u00a0told<em>Money<\/em>. \u201cA good rule of thumb: make sure the people remember you more than your clothes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Even if you\u2019re vying for a position at a company where the dress code is casual, you want to prove that you can bring your business-formal A game if need be\u2014and also assure everyone that you\u2019re taking the job opportunity seriously.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Of course, there\u2019s no guarantee that dressing in orange will actually ruin your chances of landing a job but, as\u00a0<em>Money<\/em>\u00a0points out, why risk it?
