<\/p>\nJane Lynch has had a wonderful experience on \u201cHollywood Game Night,\u201d the celebrity game show she\u2019s hosted for six seasons on NBC. But in light of Gabrielle Union\u2019s exit on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent,\u201d another hit alternative show on NBC, Lynch says the network has a problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know so much about it, but what I do know about it is I\u2019m really glad she\u2019s standing up for herself,\u201d Lynch told Variety. \u201cFrom what I read \u2014 I didn\u2019t read a lot of it \u2014 but it sounds like NBC, they\u2019ve got to get their act together. They just really have to get their act together around women and around race. It just kind of feels like someone is asleep at the wheel over there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking to Variety on Tuesday evening at the Season 3 New York City premiere of Amazon\u2019s \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d on which she\u2019ll have an expanded role in the new season, Lynch explained that her own experience working with NBC has been positive.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love my producers. I love the show. It\u2019s wonderful. And the network is always great to me,\u201d Lynch said. \u201cSo, you know, I just think there\u2019s a blindness.\u201d<\/p>\n
NBC declined to comment when contacted by Variety.<\/p>\n
Lynch joins a chorus of celebrities to publicly support Union and condemn NBC. \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d star Ellen Pompeo, Ariana Grande and Patricia Arquette have all taken to Twitter to express concern over the situation. Former \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judges Howard Stern and Sharon Osbourne both slammed \u201cAGT,\u201d with Stern dissing Simon Cowell\u2019s handling of female judges, and Osbourne complaining about pay inequality and the culture of a \u201cboys\u2019 club\u201d on the show.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Union shared that she had a \u201cproductive\u201d five-hour meeting with NBC and \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d producers during which she resurfaced complaints of a toxic culture and racial insensitivities on the set of the reality competition show. \u201cI was able to, again, express my unfiltered truth. I led with transparency and my desire and hope for real change,\u201d Union tweeted.<\/p>\n
Variety exclusively reported that Union was ousted from the show, along with fellow judge Julianne Hough, after raising concerns over insensitivities to women and people of color throughout the season.<\/p>\n
Lynch has won two Emmys for her work on \u201cHollywood Game Night,\u201d which she has hosted since 2013, with the most recent season airing this past summer. Throughout the past two seasons of \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d she has guest-starred as the comic Sophie Lennon, a role she\u2019ll reprise in the new season, which launches this Friday.
