<\/p>\nKelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos\u2019 daughter Lola has a flair for fashion \u2014 but she didn\u2019t get it from her parents.<\/p>\n

The couple opened up to PEOPLE about their 18-year-old daughter\u2019s sense of style while teaming up with Amazon Smiles to host a holiday party on Friday for N.Y.C.-based charity Win NYC, which provides shelter and housing for homeless families.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s cool. She\u2019s really cool. She\u2019s always been cool,\u201d the Riverdale actor, 48, told PEOPLE of Lola, a freshman at New York University, before making it clear that he and his wife \u201chave nothing to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have nothing to do with it literally because she\u2019s mortified by everything we put on,\u201d added the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 49.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
Of course, having a fashionista for a daughter does have its perks. \u201cI do ask her for advice sometimes,\u201d Consuelos said, noting that he\u2019ll seek help when it comes to matching different parts of an outfit together.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, she\u2019ll let us know if something\u2019s bad,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
However, Ripa\u2019s experience of talking fashion with her daughter is a little different.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe doesn\u2019t even bother with me. She just feels that what I wear is embarrassing and awful,\u201d the mom of three said. \u201cBut then I think that means that I\u2019ve gotten something right.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ripa noted, \u201cI don\u2019t think your teenage daughters should like what you\u2019re wearing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ripa and Consuelos are also proud parents to sons Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 16.<\/p>\n
And when it comes to the holiday season, their number one priority is spending time together as a family. \u201cTime is really the thing we value,\u201d Ripa shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe try not to deviate from how we were raised,\u201d she said, noting that she and her husband were both taught to appreciate \u201cthe stuff that you cannot buy, which is being together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ripa added: \u201cThey\u2019re making more stuff all the time, but they\u2019re not making more time. So time is really the thing we value.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
