Her activity is caught by FBI surveillance agent Jack Solomon (Jack O\u2019Connell). With orders to destroy her credibility in the public eye, Solomon struggles with the moral choices he faces.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There is something broken in the heart of Hollywood. Clearly it has run out of ideas. So, when not remaking films that aren&#8217;t as old as cheese in the fridge, it is forced to rummage the bins of history. While serviceable, &#8216;<span class=\"il\">Seberg&#8217;<\/span>\u00a0is just another in the long list of insipid biopics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/241254.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-52265 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/241254.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/241254.jpg 600w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/241254-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Its main problem lies with the fact it is far too clinical. The people and organisation the film examines were, for better or worse, vivacious. It goes a long way to soften Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie) into a flawed yet likeable activist. This is, however, a man that would often claim he was god and was tentatively linked to the murder of Gale Benson. I don\u2019t ask for films to be true to life but c\u2019mon, at least be interesting.<\/p>\n<p>It too also goes soft on the FBI. By giving us the presumably fictional agent Solomon as a human face it ends\u00a0up as passive and barely touched tap on the wrist in recourse\u00a0for a completely and utterly shameful moment in American history. It sorely lacks the oppressive nature of something like &#8216;The Conversation&#8217;. The attempt to show Solomon\u2019s growing obsession with\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Seberg<\/span>\u00a0is also mishandled and severely lacking in any excitement. It\u00a0doesn\u2019t even bother to play with the voyeuristic nature of the film\u00a0which is a trope that was mastered decades before the events took place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seberg-trailer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52264\" src=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seberg-trailer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"948\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seberg-trailer.jpg 948w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seberg-trailer-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seberg-trailer-768x352.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 948px) 100vw, 948px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stewart is well cast, and she does display some good chops, but the character too quickly becomes passive. Her descent into paranoia is not near subtle enough and it feels forced, not to say this within the acting but with the pacing of the script.<\/p>\n<p>The real major problem comes from director Benedict Andrews, this film could have been directed by anyone. Considering that it&#8217;s about a darling from the Nouvelle Vague you\u2019d think he\u2019d at least take some of the rebellious nature those films imbued. It is like the man has no interest in the subject matter, the implications of it or how to use semiotics.<\/p>\n<p>What a complete waste of a concept, this is about as bland as vegetarian food from the &#8217;90s. Your time would be much better spent watching &#8216;Rear Window&#8217; and &#8216;\u00c0 Bout de Souffle&#8217;, aimlessly flicking between both of them, and you\u2019d still have a more coherent more interesting film.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52266\" src=\"http:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/nasimword.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/556-768x768.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kristen Stewart channels French New Wave icon Jean Seberg.
