She may be the coolest young pop star on the planet, but Billie Eilish has also learned that that label comes with its own perils.
\nThe 18-year-old has been granted a three-year restraining order against her stalker, a man who repeatedly turned up to her Los Angeles house.<\/p>\n
24-year-old New York native Prennell Rousseau showed ‘erratic behaviour’ when he appeared at the star’s home – which she shares with her parents – seven times on May 4th and 5th. The first time, he rang the doorbell and asked her father whether she lived there, refusing to leave after being told he had the wrong house.<\/p>\n
When he returned later that evening, they called their private security firm – and while waiting for them to arrive, Rousseau sat on their porch and began reading a book, “while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue”.<\/p>\n
The family said that they were frightened and also concerned, as Rousseau did not wear a face mask or gloves, and repeatedly touched their doorbell and doorknob.<\/p>\n
A restraining order was initially granted after the incident, and Eilish’s house was blurred on Google Earth – but it has now been extended to three years, with the stalker prevented from attempting to contact or come within 100 yards of Eilish or her parents.<\/p>\n
