Amazon Prime’s The Boys will return for its highly-anticipated second season on September 4.<\/p>\n

The announcement was released during a\u00a0The Boys F**kin’ Reunited<\/a>\u00a0streaming event, which included the entire cast and the three minutes of the first upcoming episode on Friday.<\/p>\n

Creator and executive producer Eric Kripke also teased fans should prepare for an even ‘crazier, stranger, more intense, more emotional’ season in a statement to\u00a0Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0superhero satire will\u00a0premiere with the first three episodes and an additional one every Friday until the season finale on October 9.<\/p>\n

We wanted to give you time to freak out, digest, discuss, come down from the high, before we give you another dose,’\u00a0Kripke explained of the show’s weekly schedule<\/p>\n

He added: ‘We only have your well-being in mind. Hope you love the season as much as we do.’<\/p>\n

The new season ‘finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought,’ per the official synopsis.<\/p>\n

The Supes of The Seven include Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell).<\/p>\n

Characters Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother\u2019s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are attempting to ‘adjust to a new normal,’ as Butcher (Karl Urban) appears to be gone.<\/p>\n

Timeless’ Goran Visnjic will be joining as Alistair and actress Claudia Doumit, who will portray congresswoman Victoria Neuman, in the\u00a0forthcoming episodes<\/p>\n

The series initially debuted last July and is\u00a0based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.<\/p>\n

In November,\u00a0Kripe confirmed the cast and crew wrapped filming for season two with a tweet saying he felt ‘exhausted but triumphant’ at ‘2:15am.’<\/p>\n
