Kosinski is making this his next film after directing\u00a0Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>\u00a0with Tom Cruise, which boasts Teller as one of its stars.<\/p>\n

Spiderhead<\/em>\u00a0is set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences. The focus is on two prisoners who become the test patients for emotion-altering drugs that force the prisoners to grapple with their pasts in a facility run by a brilliant visionary who supervises the program.<\/p>\n

The film will be produced by Eric Newman for Screen Arcade through the producer\u2019s first-look deal at Netflix, along with Chris Hemsworth; Oren Katzeff and Geneva Wasserman for The New Yorker Studios; Reese & Wernick, Tommy Harper and Jeremy Steckler<\/p>\n

Saunders\u2019 short story first ran in\u00a0The New Yorker<\/em>\u00a0and was later collected in his bestselling anthology,\u00a0Tenth Of December<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Hemsworth just toplined\u00a0Extraction<\/em>, the AGBO-produced action film that became Netflix\u2019s most watched feature ever, with a sequel coming. Smollett most recently was the lead in the series\u00a0Underground,\u00a0<\/em>and on the bigscreen she co-starred in\u00a0Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey.<\/em><\/p>\n

Besides\u00a0Top Gun: Maverick,\u00a0<\/em>Teller\u2019s other credits include\u00a0Whiplash\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Only the Brave.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hemsworth, Teller, Smollett and Kosinski are all repped by CAA. Hemsworth is also repped by Fourward, Morrissey and attorney Matt Galsor.
