Hulu<\/a>\u00a0for its third season. Due to the show\u2019s ambitious production elements, it was determined that season three wouldn\u2019t be ready for FOX\u2019s 2019-20 season when the network needed it. As a result, the decision was made to move it to Hulu, where the first two seasons were already available.<\/p>\nSeason three was expected to be released on Hulu in late 2020 but, that won\u2019t happen due to production having been shut down by the pandemic in March.<\/p>\n
In an interview with McFarlane, co-star Jessica Szhor shared, \u201cWe were pushing through, middle of the season, scripts were banging out, gas pedal down, and then it was like, \u2018Halt!’\u201d<\/p>\n
McFarlane talked about the delays and said, \u201cAll I can say is we are working on it. We\u2019re working on it very hard, we got hit by this [pandemic production shuttdown] just like everyone else but we\u2019re working on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He noted, \u201cThere has been a lot of speculation online. \u2018Will the show come back?\u2019 The show is still a\u00a0huge<\/em>\u00a0priority for me and for the cast and for everyone else. We do have a season to finish, and we are going to finish it. Right now it\u2019s really just about the logistics of how we do it in this climate while keeping everyone safe.\u00a0For a show with a lot of prosthetic makeup that requires close contact, a lot of background artists, a lot of\u2026 it\u2019s a big job. And so, you want to make sure you do it in a way that keeps everyone safe and secure. And, once we have those protocols worked out, we will start up again and you will get more\u00a0Orville<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\nMcFarlane confirmed that most of the scripts for season three have already been written.<\/p>\n
