Thank you for asking. We appreciate it,\u201d Rancic replied.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Last month, Rancic informed the public that she and her family\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/09\/20\/guilana-rancic-reveals-she-tested-positive-for-covid-19-in-emmys-video\/\">had contracted coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0shortly before the Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cHey, everyone. As I go into my 20th year on the E! red carpet I have to say I do not take missing an award show lightly, but unfortunately, this year is just so different,\u201d Rancic said in an Instagram video she issued on Sept. 20 \u2013 the same day as the Emmys.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cAs part of E! and NBCUniversal\u2019s very strict testing guidelines, especially before an event like this, I did find out that I tested positive for COVID-19,\u201d she continued. \u201cNow, as much as I didn\u2019t want to hear that, I\u2019m very thankful I heard it before I traveled and possibly could have exposed other people. So for that, I\u2019m thankful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Rancic\u2019s husband Bill, 49, and son Duke, 8, were infected as well, she said at the time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cWe\u2019re all doing well and taking care of each other so I\u2019m going to get back to doing that. But I just want to say I\u2019m wishing you all the best and please protect yourselves and protect those around you,\u201d she added. \u201cTake good care and I\u2019ll see you on the next red carpet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">In 2011, Rancic underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Breast cancer patients who are undergoing treatment may have a \u201cweakened\u201d immune system that could increase the \u201crisk of getting sick from COVID-19,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ww5.komen.org\/BreastCancer\/coronavirus-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to Susan G.
