Harvey Weinstein<\/a>\u00a0has given up any hope of getting out of prison on bail, his lawyers say, but still thinks he\u2019ll win an appeal, which the ex-movie mogul wants to be \u201cthe Sistine Chapel of appeals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weinstein\u2019s legal reps began building his appeal in February, after the disgraced honcho was convicted on rape charges. But the appeal was delayed by the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Now Weinstein\u2019s attorney, Arthur Aidala of Aidala Bertuna & Kamins, tells Page Six he expects the appeal to be filed by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

Weinstein just lost a bid to be released on $2 million bail pending appeal. \u201cHe\u2019s come to grips with the reality of the situation,\u201d Aidala told us.<\/p>\n

But Weinstein is still \u201cpretty optimistic \u2014 having lived through the trial and seen all the legal improprieties \u2014 that he\u2019s going to be successful on appeal,\u201d said the attorney, who has not seen Weinstein in person since March 12, but spoke to him by phone as recently as Friday.<\/p>\n

He said Weinstein is expecting Aidala\u2019s firm to \u201cbe Michelangelo\u201d and \u201cbuild the Sistine Chapel of appeals.\u201d<\/p>\n

As far as how Weinstein has adjusted to life behind bars at Wende Correctional Facility east of Buffalo, Aidala said, \u201cI don\u2019t think he would mind a change of scenery, but he\u2019s hanging in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey\u2019s lawyers will argue there were issues with the judge as well as a juror. Weinstein is also being repped by the firm\u2019s Imran Ansari.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
