Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0is a Netflix Original black-comedy series created by Liz Feldman. The series has fast become one of the most-watched comedy series on Netflix, having amassed an\u00a0audience of over 30 million worldwide\u00a0in the first season.<\/p>\n

The soul of the series belongs to the chemistry between Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. On-screen together they have been\u00a0electric, making for some truly hilarious comedy, and heart-wrenching drama.<\/p>\n

Has Netflix renewed\u00a0Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0for the third season?<\/h4>\n

It took a little longer than expected, but Netflix finally announced the news that Dead to Me is returning for a third and final season!<\/p>\n

There should be no surprise that\u00a0Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0has been renewed again, the series featured heavily in the\u00a0most popular tv series lists\u00a0on Netflix. In particular, it sat at the top of the US charts the day of release.<\/p>\n

In addition to\u00a0#DeadToMe\u2019s renewal, Netflix has formed a multi-year partnership with creator Liz Feldman for original series and other projects.<\/p>\n

On the renewal, Christina Applegate took to social media to share her thoughts on the final season announcement saying \u201cI will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans thinking the show faced the dreaded Netflix cancelation curse should know the show was always intended to be wrapped up early and\u00a0not go on for seasons and seasons. Liz Feldman in an interview said she always envisioned that it wouldn\u2019t be \u201ca long long-running show\u201d.<\/p>\n

The good news is that Liz Feldman will be sticking with Netflix once\u00a0Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0has concluded. She\u00a0signed an overall deal\u00a0which means any new projects the creator has will come to Netflix. No other new projects have yet to be announced, however.<\/p>\n

Dead to Me season 3 production status & potential release window<\/h4>\n

Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0has been very consistent with its release dates so far, having been released in May for two years running.<\/p>\n

It would be an easy assumption that the plan would be for the third season of\u00a0Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0to arrive on Netflix in May 2021, but that seems almost impossible for a couple of reasons.<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 pandemic is the first major reason for not expecting it to still to its familiar May release date. In addition, the series third season is still in the writing phase as of September 2020.<\/p>\n

On September 18th, 2020 Liz Feldman took to Twitter to share that she pitched the third season \u201cto my partners\u201d and it\u2019s all been approved.<\/p>\n

Just pitched all of\u00a0@deadtome\u00a0Season 3 to my partners at\u00a0@Netflix\u00a0and they\u2019re excited and I\u2019m excited and I CAN\u2019T BELIEVE THEY\u2019RE GONNA LET ME TELL THIS STORY<\/p>\n

In October 2020, we learned that CBS Studios is currently eyeing to begin filming season 3 in January 2021. It had been stated in previous interviews that production wouldn\u2019t start until December 2020 at the earliest.<\/p>\n

Filming is set to once again take place in Los Angeles, California. This is, of course, subject to change at a moment\u2019s notice but hopefully is signs we could see a 2021 release if we\u2019re lucky.<\/p>\n

What to expect from\u00a0Dead to Me<\/em>\u00a0season 3<\/h4>\n

*Dead to Me Season 2 Spoiler Warning*<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Crash Aftermath<\/h5>\n

Ben, presumedly on his way to identify the body of his dead brother Steve, hit the car that Jen and Judy were in at the intersection. The struggling alcoholic had been drinking whiskey and ran through a stop sign.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if Ben even realized it was Jen and Judy he hit, and whether or not the pair got a glimpse of Ben before he drove away.<\/p>\n

This will weigh heavily on Ben, who\u2019s likely to turn to another bottle, especially if he thought he killed whoever was in the car, not to mention being on the way to identify his dead brother\u2019s body.<\/p>\n

Jen and Judy are conscious, but it\u2019s unclear what injuries the pair may have sustained. If the pair learn that Ben was the one driving, we can expect an awkward confrontation between them.<\/p>\n

Charlie finds Judy\u2019s Letter<\/h5>\n

After searching Judy\u2019s room for some weed, Charlie finds the letter that his mother, Jen, had written for Judy.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not revealed if Charlie actually read the letter, but if he has, then he will have learned of Judy\u2019s involvement in his father\u2019s hit-and-run death. Not to mention, his mother\u2019s guilt in killing Steve.<\/p>\n

With such evidence, it would make him innocent as he is still a suspect in Steve\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

Charlie has shown to be extremely rebellious, so he could either end up blackmailing Judy and Jen, or he\u2019ll make their life hell because of the death of his father.<\/p>\n

Will Jen be caught?<\/h5>\n

Jen was prepared to face the consequences of Steve\u2019s murder and had confessed to Detective Perez. But after the pair were unable to find the body, and had a heart-to-heart, Perez let her go free.<\/p>\n

Nick, who\u2019s been hot on the case, was given a bag of evidence by Judy to incriminate Steve and Steve\u2019s father. She was hoping that Nick could use the evidence to protect Jen, but upon realizing that Jen hadn\u2019t formally confessed yet, she had to backtrack.<\/p>\n

Charlie has the letter, Jen confessed to Perez, and the body of Steve has been found, there many threads of the web that could lead all the way back to Jen being arrested.<\/p>\n
