Indie filmmaker Gus Van Sant \u2014 whose credits include the gritty \u201cDrugstore Cowboy\u201d and \u201cMy Own Private Idaho\u201d \u2014 is going high fashion with a new project for Gucci
\nVan Sant and Gucci designer Alessandro Michele have collaborated to direct a seven-part series that was shot in Rome and stars actress\/artist Silvia Calderoni \u2014 along with music stars Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and Florence Welch, playwright Jeremy O. Harris and others.<\/p>\n

The series is a way for the fashion house to debut its new collection called \u2014 a bit like a line from \u201cZoolander\u201d \u2014 \u201cOUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended.\u201d It\u2019ll be screened during an online fashion and film festival called GucciFest, running from Nov. 16 to 22 on Gucci\u2019s YouTube channel and other outlets. As part of it all, Gucci will also screen fashion films celebrating 15 young designers.<\/p>\n

Apparently, celebrity fave Michele hinted at his planned series in a manifesto back in May called, \u201cNotes From the Silence.\u201d (But wouldn\u2019t the pages just be blank then? Never mind.)<\/p>\n

Van Sant will continue his fashion streak by next directing a Will Ferrell movie, \u201cThe Prince of Fashion,\u201d based on a GQ article by Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Chabon \u2014 about his teen son\u2019s fixation with couture and their trip together to Paris fashion week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
