Ahead of the launch of her JLo Beauty skincare line, apparently ageless superstar Jennifer Lopez revealed that she\u2019s never turned to injectables to keep her famous face wrinkle-free.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t ever had Botox to this day,\u201d the \u201cIn the Morning\u201d hitmaker, 51, told editors during a Zoom call to discuss her first-ever beauty brand.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not that person. I don\u2019t have anything against people doing that; it\u2019s just not my thing. I\u2019m more about a natural approach to skincare \u2026 but I want [my products] to work. I want the hyaluronic acid in there. I want the things that are going to help, because I don\u2019t want to have to go to the needles at some point. I\u2019m not saying one day I won\u2019t, but I haven\u2019t yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLopez did reveal that early in her career, an ex-boyfriend did encourage her to give wrinkle-erasing injections a try.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was in my 20s and I was dating this guy,\u201d she recalled. \u201cHe went to one dermatologist and I went to another dermatologist. Basically, my dermatologist gave me a great cleanser and some sunscreen and said, \u2018If you do this from now on, your skin is healthy, you\u2019re young right now, it\u2019s going to be great.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Her ex\u2019s doctor had a different opinion.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe said, \u2018Did you know you have a little line right here? We should start Botox.\u2019 I mean, I had to be 23 years old, right? And I was like, \u2018I\u2019m going to pass,’\u201d Lopez shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t like needles anyway, but the boyfriend\u2019s like, \u2018Yeah, you should start it. I do that.\u2019 I was like, \u2018No, thank you.\u2019 And I just wonder what would\u2019ve happened to me if I would\u2019ve started Botox at 23, what I would look like right now. My face would be a totally different face today.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn lieu of invasive procedures, Lopez credits her flawless complexion to olive oil \u2014 \u201cIt\u2019s a secret I\u2019ve used over the years because it really does work,\u201d she said \u2014 and diligent SPF application.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the big things I would encourage everybody to do from the time they\u2019re 15 years old, even younger, is wear sunscreen every day,\u201d she urged. \u201cThat\u2019s a big skincare secret that people kind of do but don\u2019t do. They use moisturizers, but they don\u2019t put on sunscreen every day. That is something I have done from that time I was 22 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n
