It’s Selena-approved!\u00a0Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0popped on her\u00a0Instagram Story<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday, Dec. 8, to give fans her rave review of Netflix’s new show\u00a0Selena: The Series<\/em><\/a>. In the words of the 28-year-old pop star herself, “It Aint Me”\u2014but it is the icon she’s named after.<\/p>\n

“I have been binge-watching the\u00a0Selena<\/em>\u00a0series on Netflix. It’s so good,” Gomez said.\u00a0“She’s such an inspiration. I was named after her and it’s unbelievable.”<\/p>\n

The biographical drama documents the rise of\u00a0Selena Quintanilla<\/a><\/strong>, the Mexican-American musical legend who was\u00a0shockingly murdered in 1995<\/a>\u00a0at age 23. Starring\u00a0Christian Serratos<\/strong><\/a>, the series has prompted viewers (and us at E! News) to sound off on\u00a0whether it’s actually bad or actually good<\/a>. Serratos has urged hesitant fans\u00a0to give it a try<\/a>\u00a0because it has “incredible insight into her life.”<\/p>\n

We now know Gomez is\u00a0on team Love It.\u00a0Hey, the heart wants what it wants!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

And yes, we think it’s\u00a0definitely worth the hype<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

One show Gomez’s is staying silent on? The\u00a0Saved by the Bell<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reboot, which originally included references to the singer’s 2017 kidney transplant, but the\u00a0scenes were later removed<\/a>\u00a0following fan backlash.\u00a0The creators apologized<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0her, writing, “It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health.”<\/p>\n
