\nTaylor Simone Ledward paid tribute to late husband Chadwick Boseman during Monday\u2019s virtual Gotham Awards, calling the \u201cBlack Panther\u201d star, \u201cthe most honest person I\u2019d ever met.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boseman, who died over the summer after a private battle with colon cancer, was the recipient of the Actor Tribute prize, which Ledward tearfully accepted.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is the most honest person I\u2019d ever met,\u201d Ledward said, according to People. \u201cHe actively searched for it, in himself, those around him and the moment. The truth can be a very easy thing for the self to avoid. But if one does not live in truth, then it\u2019s impossible to live life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ledward added how her husband \u201cwas blessed to live many lives within his concentrated one. He developed his understanding of what it meant to be the one, the none and the all. \u2018A vessel to be poured into and out of,\u2019 he\u2019d said.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 2020 drama, \u201cMa Rainey\u2019s Black Bottom,\u201d marked Boseman\u2019s final film appearance. He received a Gotham Awards nomination for Best Actor, with the prize ultimately going to Riz Ahmed for his turn in the \u201cSound of Metal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ledward said Monday it was her \u201chonor\u201d to accept Boseman\u2019s Tribute prize on his behalf.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my honor to receive this award on behalf of my husband, and acknowledgment not only of his profound work but of his impact on this industry and this world,\u201d an emotional Ledward said.<\/p>\n
\u201cChad,\u201d she continued, tearfully. \u201cThank you. I love you, I am so proud of you, keep shining your light on us.\u201d<\/p>\n
