“Hello,”\u00a0<\/em>Adele<\/a><\/strong>? We love you but now you’re just torturing us.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Jan. 24, the 32-year-old Grammy-winning singer posted on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0about an album…but\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0the one the world is waiting for.<\/p>\n

Adele celebrated the 10th anniversary of the release of her second and most successful album,\u00a021<\/em>. She shared\u00a0an image of the record’s cover and some related\u00a0art from the record.<\/p>\n

“Well I never! Happy 10 years old friend!” she wrote. “It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But Thank You from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it x.”<\/p>\n

Adele, who rarely posts on social media, drew a flurry of comments from fans.<\/p>\n

“Girl we need the new album plssss,” one person wrote. Another commented, “WHENS THE ALBUM COMING.”<\/p>\n

Last November, Adele marked another music milestone, the 5th anniversary of the release of\u00a0her most recent and third album,\u00a025<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2019, the singer\u00a0confirmed<\/a>\u00a0that new music was on the way in an Instagram birthday post, which she shared weeks after\u00a0announcing her\u00a0breakup<\/a>\u00a0from husband\u00a0Simon Konecki<\/strong>\u2014with whom she shares an 8-year-old son, and more than a month after she was spotted\u00a0arriving at a recording studio<\/a>\u00a0in New York City.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

In June 2020,\u00a0the singer responded on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0to a fan asking if the new album was coming out that day, saying, “Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Then in October, Adele hosted\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0although she was not the musical guest. She did, however, reference her upcoming record.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

“I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being the host,” she\u00a0said in her monologue<\/a>. “Like, ‘Why isn’t she the musical guest?’ and stuff like that, and there’s a couple of reasons: My album’s not finished, and I’m also too scared to do both.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Earlier this month, Adele’s friend, U.K. talk show host\u00a0Alan Carr<\/strong>,\u00a0said in a video chat<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Grazia UK<\/em>\u00a0that he has heard some of the singer’s new tracks. He said, “Oh my gosh, it’s so amazing. It’s so amazing.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

“I said to her, I said, that voice is like an old friend,” he continued. “Because there are some people in the charts who sound a bit like Adele and you\u00a0go,\u00a0‘Oh they sound ‘Adele” and then when you hear Adele’s voice again you go, ‘Oh no, there’s only one. There’s only one Adele.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
