<\/p>\n\nThe 10-time Primetime Emmy Award-nominated writer and producer for \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d Marc Wilmore has died at 57 after developing complications from the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sweet sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling COVID and other conditions that have had him in pain for many years,\u201d Wilmore\u2019s older brother and fellow comedian Larry Wilmore tweeted on Sunday. \u201cMy brother was the kindest, gentlest, funniest, lion of an angel I\u2019ve ever known. I love you little brother.\u201d<\/p>\n
After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, Wilmore began his career in the \u201890s writing \u2014 and then as a cast member \u2014 on sketch comedy show \u201cIn Living Color.\u201d His writing there earned him his first Emmy nomination. Following \u201cIn Living Color,\u201d he became a writer for \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno,\u201d as well as his brother Larry\u2019s stop-motion sitcom \u201cThe PJs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wilmore went on to be a co-executive producer and writer for \u201cThe Simpsons,\u201d as well as the animated series \u201cF Is For Family.\u201d His voice also appeared in the occasional character of the shows he worked on, according to IMDB.<\/p>\n
In response to Larry\u2019s announcement of his passing, other writers and comedians offered an outpouring of love for the late Wilmore, for his kindness and his sense of humor.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m so sorry for your loss, Larry,\u201d tweeted comedian Matt Oswalt. \u201cI met Marc when we worked on the Tonight Show \u2013 we played golf, laughed a lot. He was such a nice guy and will miss him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy heart goes out you Larry,\u201d responded actor David Alan Grier. \u201cI remember fondly sitting your offices back in ILC pitching ideas back and forth. [Marc] was the funniest, sweetest guy ever! May he Rest In Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnother giant talent taken too soon,\u201d wrote \u201cSimpsons\u201d writer Michael Price. \u201cI had the privilege to work alongside Marc Wilmore on 3 shows (PJs, Simpsons, FIFF) for the better part of the last 23 years and he was THE funniest person in every room.
