Cannon, 40, is returning as host of VH1\u2019s \u201cWild \u2018N Out\u201d after parent company ViacomCBS fired him over the summer for making anti-Semitic comments on his podcast, \u201cCannon\u2019s Class.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the episode, \u201cThe Masked Singer\u201d host claimed that black people are \u201cthe true Hebrews\u201d and made reference to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories regarding \u201cZionists\u201d and the Rothschild family.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s never hate speech, you can\u2019t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,\u201d Cannon said. \u201cWhen we are the same people who they want to be. That\u2019s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.\u201d<\/p>\n
He subsequently issued a public apology and met with Rabbi Abraham Cooper and other prominent members of the Jewish community to educate himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cNick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,\u201d an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose efforts are of the utmost importance and that\u2019s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.\u201d<\/p>\n
In August, ViacomCBS said it was \u201chopeful\u201d it would work with him again following his apology journey.<\/p>\n
