Joining him behind the scenes going into \u201cThe Boys&#8217;\u201d third season are Meredith Glynn, David Reed, and Jim Michaels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Glynn was a co-executive producer and writer on \u201cSupernatural\u201d from 2016-2020. She will serve as an executive producer on \u201cThe Boys.\u201d\u00a0Reed was a writer and script coordinator on \u201cSupernatural\u201d from 2009-2012 and will serve as executive producer on \u201cThe Boys.\u201d\u00a0Michaels was a producer and later co-executive producer on \u201cSupernatural\u201d from 2009-2020. It was previously announced that \u201cSupernatural\u201d star\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2020\/tv\/news\/supernaturals-jensen-ackles-joins-the-boys-season-3-1234737168\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jensen Ackles would be joining \u201cThe Boys\u201d<\/a>\u00a0Season 3 in the role of Soldier Boy. Kripke created \u201cSupernatural\u201d and served as showrunner on the series until the end of its fifth season, at which time he departed. The show continued for 10 more seasons, wrapping up last year after 15 seasons and 327 episodes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em>Variety<\/em>\u00a0reported in September that Amazon has already put\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2020\/tv\/news\/the-boys-spinoff-amazon-1234782755\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a spinoff of \u201cThe Boys\u201d<\/a>\u00a0into development following the success of the show\u2019s first two seasons. The spinoff is to be set at America\u2019s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or \u201csupes\u201d) that is run by Vought International<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">According to Amazon, the second season had the most-watched global launch of an Amazon original series ever, with the episodes to date having grown the audience from Season 1 by 89%.
