Jonas pulled double duty as\u00a0the musical guest and host,<\/a>\u00a0and used his time to introduce fans to\u00a0his new solo work.<\/a><\/p>\n

For his first set of the night, Jonas took to the stage for a light-show-backed\u00a0performance of “Spaceman,”<\/a>\u00a0which he just dropped on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Opting for a retro-techno aesthetic, Jonas belted out the ballad with some help from his back-up band and a whole lot of creative laser lights.<\/p>\n

For his second set, the singer was introduced by his brother, Kevin Jonas, who also\u00a0played a big part of his monologue<\/a>\u00a0earlier in this episode.<\/p>\n

Jonas donned a red suit — sans shirt — as he belted out the romantic new tune\u00a0“This Is Heaven” and showed off his angelic vocals.<\/p>\n

Recently, Jonas\u00a0opened up about his new music<\/a>\u00a0and said that all the songs on his latest solo album,\u00a0Spaceman<\/em>, are\u00a0actually love letters to his wife,\u00a0Priyanka Chopra Jonas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“She loves it. Most of the songs are pretty much just love letters, which when I can’t articulate the way I feel with my words with no music, I go to the studio,” Nick\u00a0told\u00a0Apple Music’s Zane Lowe<\/a>.\u00a0“And I’m grateful to have that because it makes her happy, and that’s most important.”<\/p>\n

The Voice coach<\/a>\u00a0says his upcoming album — which comes out March 12 —\u00a0is “inherently hopeful,” especially after a year like 2020. Check out the video below to hear more.<\/p>\n

Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>\u00a0airs live coast-to-coast at 11:30 p.m. ET, 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC.<\/p>\n
