Halsey<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>has said it once and she’ll say it again: “Be Kind.”<\/p>\n

The pregnant singer is open and honest about much of her life, but that doesn’t mean she wants\u00a0people to weigh in.\u00a0On March 1, she\u00a0reminded\u00a0the public to mind its own business when it comes to\u00a0her motherhood journey and suggested\u00a0that people should stop theorizing about her process.<\/p>\n

Halsey wrote on her Instagram Story, “why is it ok to speculate and pass judgement about fertility and conception?”<\/p>\n

She said, “My pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this bb. But I would be just as happy even if it were another way.”<\/p>\n

On Jan. 27, the “Without Me” artist announced that she’s\u00a0expecting her first child<\/a>\u00a0with her\u00a0partner, screenwriter\u00a0<\/a>Alev Aydin<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>The 26 year old\u00a0<\/strong>wrote on Instagram, “surprise!” along with photos from her creative maternity shoot.<\/p>\n

Speculation aside, Halsey has been candid about the challenges she’s faced while trying to have a baby\u2014in her own words.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

In 2016, she shared\u00a0that she suffered a miscarriage<\/a>\u00a0the year prior, just hours before she was set to perform on stage. According to her account, she took some painkillers and wore an adult diaper during the show.\u00a0She recalled, “It’s the angriest performance that I’ve ever done in my life… That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, ‘I don’t feel like a f–king human being anymore.'”<\/p>\n

“I want to be a mom more than I want to be a pop star,” Halsey added.\u00a0“More than I want to be anything in the world.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

She gave more details on how she was trying to have kids in 2018,\u00a0revealing she was freezing her eggs<\/a>. She shared on\u00a0The Doctors<\/em>,\u00a0“Doing an ovarian reserve is important to me because I’m fortunate enough to have that as an option, but I need to be aggressive about protecting my fertility, about protecting myself.”<\/p>\n

Additionally, she explained that\u00a0her endometriosis symptoms had gotten worse while she was on tour. “When I started touring and playing concerts and traveling, the stress and strain on my body really started to enhance the symptoms and make the experience a little bit worse,” recalled the star, whose real name is\u00a0Ashley Nicolette Frangipane<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the weeks since revealing her pregnancy news, she’s continued to be open about her experiences, like how her growing baby bump has\u00a0affected the way she views her body<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been thinking lots about my body. it’s strange to watch yourself change so quickly,” Halsey wrote on Feb. 18. “I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about ‘womanhood’ but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely.”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Manic<\/em>\u00a0singer also paid tribute to\u00a0“the scars that got me this angel<\/a>” by posting raw photos of her pelvic scars from her\u00a0endometriosis surgery. She has called it “a miracle” that she can conceive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
