Hilaria Baldwin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Alec Baldwin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0surprised their fans earlier this week when\u00a0they announced their baby news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The couple,\u00a0who tied the knot in 2012<\/a>,\u00a0took to Instagram on March 1 to reveal they\u00a0quietly welcomed their sixth child<\/a>, a baby girl named\u00a0Lucia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One day later, a source has confirmed to E! News that their newborn “arrived via surrogate.”<\/p>\n

At this time, the yoga instructor\u00a0and\u00a030 Rock<\/em>\u00a0actor\u00a0haven’t\u00a0shared\u00a0any other details about their little one. However,\u00a0Alec recently spoke out and defended his wife after reading negative comments on\u00a0his Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Who’s the mother? She wasn’t pregnant. She gave birth six months ago,” one user replied, to which the 62-year-old actor responded, “you should shut the f–k up and mind your own business.”<\/p>\n

While\u00a0some\u00a0brought up\u00a0the controversy surrounding Hilaria’s heritage<\/a>, others commented,\u00a0“Wish I knew why are people so mean.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Alec saw the message and wrote, “because, basically, they’re not very smart. Americans are people who know less about how to live a peaceful, healthy life than most of the civilized world.”<\/p>\n

Although Hilaria has shared Instagram posts of her newborn, she’s continued to\u00a0disable comments. She only recently\u00a0returned to the social media platform<\/a>\u00a0after being accused of\u00a0faking her Spanish accent<\/a>\u00a0and distorting her heritage\u2014which came into question\u00a0following a viral Twitter thread<\/a>\u00a0in December.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

“I’ve spent the last month listening, reflecting, and asking myself how I can learn and grow,” she began her\u00a0caption on\u00a0Feb. 5<\/a>. “My parents raised my brother and me with two cultures, American and Spanish, and I feel a true sense of belonging to both. The way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained\u2014I should have been more clear and I’m sorry.”<\/p>\n

“I’m proud of the way I was raised, and we’re raising our children to share the same love and respect for both,” she continued. “Being vulnerable and pushing ourselves to learn and grow is what we’ve built our community on, and I hope to get back to the supportive and kind environment we’ve built together.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

But despite the scandal, the 37-year-old author appears to be focusing her energy on her family’s new addition. After announcing their little one’s arrival,\u00a0Hilaria\u00a0gushed<\/a>, “We are so in love with our daughter, Lucia. Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true.”<\/p>\n

She previously shared the baby news with a simple caption, “7.”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Beetlejuice<\/em>\u00a0actor shares 25-year-old daughter\u00a0Ireland Baldwin<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with his ex,\u00a0Kim Basinger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Back in 2019,\u00a0Hilaria opened up about suffering a miscarriage<\/a>\u00a0four months after she announced she and Alec were expecting their fifth child.<\/p>\n

“We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months,”\u00a0she shared at the time.\u00a0“We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be. We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies\u2014and we will never lose sight of this.”<\/p>\n
