The cast of “Friends” will finally be there for us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0much-discussed \u2014 and hotly anticipated \u2014 “Friends” reunion<\/a>\u00a0for HBO Max was initially set to be filmed in March 2020 but was delayed due to\u00a0the COVID pandemic<\/a>. Since then, there’s been very little movement.<\/p>\n

During a March 3 chat with Andy Cohen, David Schwimmer, who famously played Ross Geller, said the cast will shoot the special very soon.<\/p>\n

Actually, in a little over a month I’m heading out to L.A.,” David said when asked if the famous cast had shot anywhere. “So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols.”<\/p>\n

Last year, it was essentially etched in stone that Ellen DeGeneres would host the reunion between David,\u00a0Jennifer Aniston<\/a>,\u00a0Courteney Cox<\/a>, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry. But,\u00a0following her tumultuous 2020<\/a>, plans changed. Andy then pressed David on who the host will be.<\/p>\n

“You know what, I don’t know if I can [say] actually,” David said. “Yeah. Should’ve found that out. Um, all right. It’s not Ellen. It’s not Billy Crystal. I could tell you who it’s not.”<\/p>\n

In February 2020, it was confirmed that all six original cast members will reunite for an exclusive untitled unscripted special, which was set to air last spring. After the announcement, Courteney expressed her excitement on an episode of “Hiking with Kevin.”<\/p>\n

“So the exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited. We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to be great,” she said. “But we really haven’t all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had.
