Prince William<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has spoken out for the first time since\u00a0Prince Harry<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Meghan Markle<\/a><\/strong>‘s\u00a0bombshell interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, March 11, the Duke of Cambridge stepped out with\u00a0Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to visit School 21 in Stratford, London, where the royal couple congratulated teachers involved in the school’s reopening following the\u00a0coronavirus lockdown<\/a>. During the outing,\u00a0a reporter asked William if he’s spoken to his brother since the Duke of Sussex’s interview with\u00a0Oprah Winfrey<\/a><\/strong>, during which he made claims about the royal family.<\/p>\n

“I haven’t spoken to him yet,” William replied, “but I will do.”<\/p>\n

And in response to the reporter’s question on whether the royal family is a “racist family,” William defended the royals, saying, “We are very much not a racist family.”<\/p>\n

In the tell-all with Oprah, which aired on March 7, Meghan and Harry spoke openly about what led to them\u00a0stepping down as senior royals<\/a>. Meghan also\u00a0opened up\u00a0about the\u00a0lack of support she felt from the family<\/a>, as well as\u00a0having suicidal thoughts<\/a>\u00a0amid intense media scrutiny.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Additionally, Meghan and Harry\u00a0talked to Oprah about a conversation that allegedly took place about son\u00a0Archie Harrison<\/a><\/strong>‘s skin tone while she was pregnant.<\/p>\n

While both Meghan and Harry did not share who had these conversations with the Duke of Sussex,\u00a0Oprah later clarified<\/a>\u00a0that it was not\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Prince Philip<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
