<\/p>\nJohnny Depp\u2019s camp thinks the embattled star may finally get a courtroom win \u2014 because his ex, Amber Heard, allegedly neglected to donate funds from their divorce to charity.<\/p>\n
When ex-wife Heard bagged $7 million in their 2017 divorce settlement, she pledged to donate the cash to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children\u2019s Hospital of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

But on Wednesday, it came out in court that Heard never handed over the money to the charities.<\/p>\n
Now sources close to Depp think that the revelation could work to his advantage in trying to appeal another of his many legal battles.<\/p>\n
The \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d star sued British newspaper The Sun after it branded him a \u201cwifebeater\u201d for allegedly attacking Heard during their marriage. He lost the case last July.<\/p>\n
But he\u2019s now trying to appeal the ruling.<\/p>\n
Heard was a key witness in the original case, and a judge ruled the allegations made against Depp in the article were \u201csubstantially true.\u201d<\/p>\n
But sources close to Depp\u2019s team told us this week: \u201cThe judge thought she was this wonderful human being standing up for mankind,\u201d because of her supposed generosity, \u201cbut she was lying out of her ass [about the donations].\u201d<\/p>\n
At a hearing in London on Thursday to decide whether Depp can appeal, his lawyer called the claim about donating the money \u201ccalculated and manipulative lie.\u201d<\/p>\n
But lawyers for the Sun said that Heard didn\u2019t lie, that she\u2019d made \u201ca number of payments already\u201d and was just not done handing it over yet.<\/p>\n
It also came out in court that Depp had sent a text to a friend at the time saying, \u201cNo Way she\u2019ll give a dime to anyone!!! Thank f\u2013k she\u2019s gone!!! Makes me sick to think of how hard I tried to make it work \u2026 Now \u2026 Honestly, I wouldn\u2019t touch that f\u2013ing whore with a Hazmat suit on!!! What scum. I f\u2013ing hate her!!!\u201d<\/p>\n
