<\/p>\nBrad Pitt is heartbroken over the leak from the Angelina Jolie camp that she is ready to testify about alleged spousal abuse in their trial over child custody, according to insiders.<\/p>\n
While the Hollywood couple is already legally divorced, they are still battling over custody of their six children. They are in the midst of a trial in front of a private judge.<\/p>\n

But on March 12, Jolie, 45, filed court documents indicating that both she and her children are willing to offer testimony and \u201cproof and authority in support\u201d of her allegations against Pitt, 57.<\/p>\n
The court documents, in this case, are private and sealed but were leaked to Hollywood blog The Blast.<\/p>\n
A source close to Pitt said: \u201cBrad is heartbroken that Angelina has gone that route. There\u2019s a lot of emotion left after their marriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has taken responsibility for his actions and owned up to his past issues, he\u2019s stopped drinking.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and \u2014 like all couples \u2014 they had fights, but also shared many good times together.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has talked about his drink and drug problems during the time they were together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pitt has never been arrested or charged for any offense during his marriage to Jolie, nor were there any police reports made about any allegations of spousal abuse.<\/p>\n
There was a widely-publicized incident on board a private jet with his family, but he was never charged.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrad and his camp has never attacked Angelina. But his camp feels this leak was calculated to sway opinion ahead of the conclusion of their trial,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrad feels like he\u2019s being more and more isolated from his children, and he\u2019s devastated about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is hoped the trial will end next month and the judge \u2014 which Angelina has tried and so far not succeeded in removing from the case \u2014 will rule on custody. Judge John W. Ouderkirk \u2014 who actually married Pitt and Jolie \u2014 has denied any personal bias or prejudice concerning any party or attorney in this case.<\/p>\n
Sources tell Page Six that the kids have been interviewed by court-appointed therapists, but it is believed recent reports that eldest son Maddox, 19, gave negative testimony against Pitt are untrue.<\/p>\n
Pitt is fighting for equal 50-50 physical and legal custody of his six children with Angelina Jolie.<\/p>\n
His relationship with Maddox has been described as \u201cdifficult,\u201d which Pitt is said to be heartbroken over.<\/p>\n
In 2016, Pitt was cleared of child abuse allegations made by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services regarding an incident between him and Maddox on a plane from the U.S. to Europe.<\/p>\n
After the DCFS conducted a lengthy investigation, the conclusion reached was there was \u201cnot inappropriate physical contact\u201d between them.<\/p>\n
The incident led the \u201cMaleficent\u201d actress to file for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage. They were declared legally divorced in 2019.<\/p>\n
Eight months later, Pitt told GQ, \u201cI was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we\u2019ve been able to work together to sort this out,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, \u2018No one wins in court \u2014 it\u2019s just a matter of who gets hurt worse.\u2019 And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you\u2019re right and why they\u2019re wrong, and it\u2019s just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd fortunately my partner in this agrees. It\u2019s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Pitt was cleared of charges, he added the well-being of his six children is of the utmost priority.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot to tell them because there\u2019s understanding the future, there\u2019s understanding the immediate moment and why we\u2019re at this point, and then it brings up a lot of issues from the past that we haven\u2019t talked about. So our focus is that everyone comes out stronger and better people \u2014 there is no other outcome,\u201d Pitt said.<\/p>\n
