In a several-tweet thread to her 14 million followers Wednesday night, the model said goodby to the social network, writing that her time spent on the site, \u201cno longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that\u2019s the right time to call something.\u201d<\/p>\n

She began the missive by thanking her fans and praising what they had \u201ccreated\u201d on the website.<\/p>\n
\u201cHey. For over 10 years, \u200byou guys have been my world,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends. But it\u2019s time for me to say goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the thread continued, Teigen said she was \u201cdeeply bruised\u201d from her time online and hadn\u2019t learned how to \u201cblock out the negativity.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn\u2019t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as!,\u201d the wife of John Legend continued.<\/p>\n
Teigen announced no intentions to quit Instagram, where she has 34 million followers \u2014 and where she made waves last week by posting a topless pic featuring her toddler.<\/p>\n
In February, she asked President Biden to unfollow her on Twitter so she could \u201cflourish.\u201d<\/p>\n
