The actor took home the 2021\u00a0Screen Actors Guild Award<\/a>\u00a0for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for his role in\u00a0Ozark<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>on Sunday. He beat out fellow nominees\u00a0Sterling K. Brown<\/a>\u00a0(This Is Us<\/a><\/em>),\u00a0Josh O’Connor<\/a>\u00a0(The Crown<\/a><\/em>),\u00a0Bob Odenkirk<\/a>\u00a0(Better Call Saul<\/a><\/em>) and\u00a0Reg\u00e9-Jean Page<\/a>\u00a0(Bridgerton<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In his acceptance speech, Bateman, 52, thanked his\u00a0Ozark\u00a0<\/em>team and his family for their support, as well as the healthcare workers amid the ongoing\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I think they would all agree that the biggest thank you’s go to the healthcare workers that have tended to us all during this last year, and the miracle work from scientists\u00a0that have given us the vaccines<\/a>\u00a0that are not only going to let us continue making fake life but, most importantly, the real life that we’re all yearning to get back to,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“So this is dedicated to them,” Bateman added, concluding his speech by encouraging everyone to “go get your shot” so we can “all get back to normal.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This is second SAG Awards win for Bateman, who\u00a0took home the same honor<\/a>\u00a0in 2019 for his portrayal of Martin “Marty” Byrde in\u00a0Ozark<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He and the rest of the\u00a0Ozark<\/em>\u00a0cast are also up for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In June,\u00a0Netflix<\/a>\u00a0announced that the critically acclaimed crime drama will return for a\u00a0fourth and final season<\/a>\u00a0expanded in two parts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chris Mundy will return as showrunner, writer and executive producer and will reunite with Bateman as the creative forces behind both parts of the new season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Alongside Bateman,\u00a0Laura Linney<\/a>,\u00a0Julia Garner<\/a>, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan and Lisa Emery will also return.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“A supersized season means super sized problems for the Byrdes,” Bateman said in a statement at the time. “I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A premiere date for season 4 has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 27th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are airing live on TNT and TBS on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET\/6 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
