One month after Page Six broke the stunning news that the power couple had split \u2014 although they subsequently claimed to be working on their relationship and were conveniently captured smooching by paparazzi \u2014 the stars released a statement Thursday confirming the breakup.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,\u201d they said to the \u201cToday\u201d show. \u201cWe will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other\u2019s children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez, 51, and Rodriguez, 45, also asked for privacy for the sake of their children. The pop superstar is the parent of 13-year-old twins, son Max and daughter Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. The former Yankee has two daughters, Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.<\/p>\n
\nPage Six previously revealed that the stars \u2014 who got engaged in 2019 but postponed their wedding twice, citing the COVID-19 pandemic \u2014 had split because of Rodriguez\u2019s scandal with \u201cSouthern Charm\u201d star Madison LeCroy.<\/p>\n
At the start of the year, LeCroy\u2019s co-stars accused her on the air of having an inappropriate relationship with a married former MLB player. LeCroy later admitted to FaceTiming with Rodriguez but denied anything beyond the calls.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s never physically cheated on his fianc\u00e9e with me,\u201d LeCroy told Page Six in February, adding, \u201cI don\u2019t want anything bad for his family, or for mine. We are definitely innocent in this.\u201d<\/p>\n
