Zac Efron<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has seemingly debuted a fresh look, following rumors that he\u00a0split with his Aussie girlfriend,\u00a0Vanessa Valladares<\/strong><\/a>, after less than a year together.<\/p>\n

As he appears to be moving on,\u00a0the\u00a0Down to Earth<\/em>\u00a0host celebrated Earth Day this week by making a cameo in\u00a0Earth Day! The Musical<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0a video that\u00a0dropped on Facebook Watch on\u00a0Wednesday, April 21.<\/p>\n

However, it wasn’t his chat with\u00a0Bill Nye The Science Guy<\/strong>\u00a0that got the Internet buzzing. Instead, fans noticed that Zac, 33, appeared to show off a new sculpted appearance.<\/p>\n

One fan\u00a0commented<\/a>, “in the past 5 minutes I have seen several recent photos of zac efron and his face has been a different shape in every single one of them.” Another social media user\u00a0joked<\/a>\u00a0that he may not be able to “unlock his phone using Face ID” anymore.<\/p>\n

Many fans expressed surprise at the apparent transformation, with one\u00a0asking<\/a>\u00a0why he decided to “ruin” his “perfect face.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

As the photos went viral, diehard fans took to defending\u00a0The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0actor.\u00a0One\u00a0questioned<\/a>\u00a0why\u00a0people “are sitting here body shaming him???”<\/p>\n

Others noted that the\u00a0High School Musical<\/em>\u00a0alum has faced physical challenges in the past, which may have contributed to his appearance, including when he\u00a0broke his jaw in 2013<\/a>\u00a0and had his mouth wired shut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Additionally, Zac has been open about various diets he’s\u00a0adhered to, in order to look a certain way for roles.<\/p>\n

“I’m so happy that I’m eating carbs again,” he said in 2017, per\u00a0Men’s Health<\/a><\/em>. “I went, like, years without eating carbs.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

He went on, “When I shot\u00a0Baywatch<\/em>, I didn’t have a carb for, like, six months… I almost lost my mind. You need this. I still can’t get over how this diet of carbs and low protein is the exact opposite of everything any trainer has ever taught me.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Given this\u00a0history, one fan criticized people that are “ripping Zac Efron to shreds without knowing ANYTHING about why he has done it,”\u00a0tweeting<\/a>, “I sincerely want you to know you are the reason social media is toxic.”<\/p>\n

Zac hasn’t addressed people’s response to the photos directly, though he posted on Instagram for Earth Day to\u00a0say<\/a>, “I’ve been so blessed to be able to travel and see all of the amazing things people are doing for the planet. It’s a beautiful world, let’s protect it.”<\/p>\n
