Riz Ahmed and his wife Fatima Farheen Mirza made their red carpet debut as a married couple at the 2021 Oscars in Los Angeles on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The \u201cSound of Metal\u201d star, 38, was seen walking with his arm draped around the 30-year-old novelist as they posed for photos together.<\/p>\n
While Ahmed kept his look simple with an all-black suit and coordinating black shirt, the \u201cA Place for Us\u201d writer went a more colorful route in a light blue gown and red heels.<\/p>\n

As they made their way down the red carpet, Ahmed was seen sweetly fixing his wife\u2019s hair before they posed for pics together.<\/p>\n
A fan tweeted a clip of their loving moment, writing, \u201cI will never forgive E! for cutting away from this adorable moment between Riz Ahmed and his wife Fatima Farheen Mirza!!!! #Oscars\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is so loving,\u201d one person commented on the clip.<\/p>\n
\u201cRelationship Goals,\u201d added another.<\/p>\n
\nAhmed revealed in January that he was a married man but did not immediately reveal who he had wed right away. Days later though, the actor confirmed he and Mirza had tied the knot.<\/p>\n
He explained on \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\u201d that he did not intentionally keep their wedding a secret, saying at the time, \u201cIt\u2019s a weird one, isn\u2019t it? I guess because we live in a social media age if you don\u2019t, like, get on the megaphone about stuff it\u2019s like, it\u2019s a secret \u2014 but I never know how much is oversharing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe added, \u201cLike, I\u2019m into matcha lattes, but that\u2019s just never come up. I\u2019m not a secret matcha latte drinker.\u201d<\/p>\n
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the couple had an intimate wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, kept it super intimate, and socially distanced. There was just like, hardly anyone there really,\u201d he had told Fallon. \u201cWe did it in a backyard, which is nice in lots of ways. And I think the nicest thing about it was you didn\u2019t have 500 aunties hanging around you, pinching your cheeks. No disrespect to the aunties.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair initially met in a New York City coffee shop while Ahmed was filming \u201cSound of Metal,\u201d for which Ahmed has been nominated for the 2021 Oscars Best Actor award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
