Supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid are among a slew of celebrities weighing in on the escalating\u00a0conflict in the Middle East<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 using their social media accounts to express support for the Palestinians.<\/p>\n

The Hadids, who are half Palestinian and half Dutch but were born in the US,\u00a0have long supported their motherland<\/a>\u00a0and doubled down on the sentiments in recent Instagram posts this week.<\/p>\n

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, Bella Hadid has made over a dozen posts on her story and on her Instagram page in support of the Palestinians\u2019 plight, using the hashtag \u201cFree Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t think this is wrong, regardless of who you are and where you come from, there is a problem with how you see humanity and Palestinians. This is on you. Not them,\u201d Bella Hadid wrote in a caption alongside a post that detailed issues Palestinians face, including ubiquitous checkpoints, evictions and restrictions of food, water and necessities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lot to say about this but for now, please read and educate yourself. This is not about religion. This is not about spewing hate on one or the other. This is about Israeli colonization, ethnic cleansing, military occupation and apartheid over the Palestinian people that has been going on for YEARS!\u201d she wrote in another post.<\/p>\n

Gigi Hadid made a number of similar postings, mostly resharing what her sister had, but also posted a photo of her father Mohamed Hadid\u2019s passport. The real estate tycoon,\u00a0who now lives in California<\/a>, was born in Palestine and his passport shows that as his birthplace. Gigi Hadid showed it off in response to critics saying the locale doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n

Dua Lipa, the crooner who is dating the Hadid sisters\u2019 brother Anwar Hadid, shared the #SaveSheikhJarrah hashtag on her Instagram Stories over the weekend in reference to a neighborhood in Jerusalem that is home to many Palestinians who are facing evictions,\u00a0Newsweek reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other celebrities have also weighed in.<\/p>\n

The Weeknd shared artwork on his Instagram Story with the missive \u201cprotect Jerusalem\u201d in support of Palestinians who\u2019ve been displaced, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d star Lena Headey, who played Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series, shared an image of a Palestinian girl waving a flag. The graphic included the words \u201cSave Sheikh Jarrah\u201d and \u201cZionist Israel Apartheid.\u201d<\/p>\n

And musician Roger Waters posted a video on Twitter last week\u00a0clearly spelling out his support for the Palestinians<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s official ISRAEL is an APARTHEID STATE,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
