The 46-year-old actor revealed that he and his partner, stylist Christine Centenera, recently welcomed their first child.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just ran away from the hospital for a moment,\u201d Edgerton shared in a new interview with Oprah Winfrey. \u201cI can\u2019t even put it into words. I\u2019m in love.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cZero Dark Thirty\u201d star said he almost missed his child\u2019s birth because he was busy filming in a different part of the couple\u2019s native Australia, but thankfully made it in time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very nervous because I was working in Queensland and there are some border issues with Sydney and Queensland that pop up,\u201d the \u201cUnderground Railroard\u201d star said. \u201cI was getting very nervous that I\u2019d get stuck.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fortunately, Edgerton said he had some \u201cwonderful\u201d colleagues who wouldn\u2019t allow him to miss the special milestone.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will move heaven and earth to make sure you don\u2019t miss something this important,\u201d the actor said the colleagues told him, joking, \u201cI would\u2019ve done a Tom Cruise \u2014 \u2018How do you work this thing?’\u201d<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t reveal the child\u2019s name or any additional details.<\/p>\n
The mostly private couple initially met 20 years ago but only started dating in 2018 while they were both in New York, according to a Vogue profile on Centenera published last year. She said they now share homes in both Sydney and in Noho.<\/p>\n
