<\/p>\n\nThe royal family has publicly sent their well wishes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the birth of the couple\u2019s second child, Lilibet Diana.<\/p>\n
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson released a statement Sunday expressing the family\u2019s \u201cdelight,\u201d written on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince William and Kate Middleton.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
William and Kate subsequently tweeted a supportive message reading, \u201cWe are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36 \u2014 who quit the royal family in a bombshell move last year \u2014 have been in even hotter water since leveling serious accusations against the Palace in their March chat with Oprah Winfrey, including claims of racism, and subsequent interviews.<\/p>\n
Harry \u2014 who now lives in California with Meghan, the couple\u2019s 2-year-old son, Archie, and their new daughter \u2014 saw his father and brother in April when he flew back to the UK for his grandfather Prince Philip\u2019s funeral, but neither William nor Charles had one-on-one talks with the ginger Prince, sources said.<\/p>\n

\nSources previously told us that Charles and William only agreed to speak to Harry if witnesses were present because they feared a twisted account could leak from Harry\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n
But after baby Lilibet arrived on Friday, we\u2019re told Harry and Meghan immediately called the Queen, Charles and William to inform them about the news.<\/p>\n
The couple also made a clear move to strengthen family ties by choosing the name Lilibet, which is the Queen\u2019s family nickname.
