Zack Snyder<\/strong>\u00a0and his wife\/producing partner,\u00a0Deborah Snyder<\/strong>, have just signed a two-year first-look deal with Netflix via their Stone Quarry Productions banner. Producer\u00a0Wesley Coller<\/strong>\u00a0is also one of the founders of the company. Also, per a report from\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Snyder is officially developing an\u00a0<\/strong>Army of the Dead<\/em>\u00a0sequel, but it won’t happen for a while.<\/p>\n

As part of the deal, Snyder will co-write, produce, and direct a sci-fi adventure flick titled\u00a0Rebel Moon<\/em><\/strong>, which was previously reported\u00a0earlier this month<\/a>.\u00a0Rebel Moon<\/em>\u00a0is said to be heavily influenced by\u00a0Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0and the work of\u00a0Akira Kurosawa<\/strong>. Apparently, Snyder will helm a direct sequel to\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>\u00a0after he is done working on\u00a0Rebel Moon<\/em>. Not much is known about the newly confirmed sequel other than the fact that Snyder will co-write the film with\u00a0Shay Hatten<\/strong>, who is returning from the first movie. Snyder has hinted at the development of a sequel to his hit Netflix film in various interviews, but the news wasn’t confirmed until now.<\/p>\n

Snyder is currently producing two different\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>\u00a0spin-offs,\u00a0one an anime<\/a>, the other a German language prequel entitled\u00a0Army of Thieves<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0Army of Thieves<\/em>\u00a0sees\u00a0Matthias Schweigh\u00f6fer<\/strong>\u00a0reprising his role from\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>, and depicts Ludwig Dieter at the beginning of his safe-cracking career and the start of the zombie apocalypse. The prequel is set to be released on Netflix later this year. The anime series is titled\u00a0Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and is set to premiere in the spring of 2022. On Tuesday, Netflix revealed that Snyder’s\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>\u00a0was watched by 75 million member accounts.<\/p>\n

Because of this first-look deal, audiences will not have to wait long to see several follow-ups to this year’s smash success,\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>. Other projects being developed by Stone Quarry Productions include an action film that will serve as the directorial debut of stunt coordinator and frequent Snyder collaborator\u00a0Damon Caro<\/strong>, as well as another animated Netflix series,\u00a0Twilight of the Gods<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
