There’s going to be some stiff competition on\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>next season.<\/p>\n

Dance Moms<\/em>\u00a0alum\u00a0JoJo Siwa<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Suni Lee<\/strong>\u00a0will enter the spotlight\u00a0during season 30 of\u00a0DWTS<\/em>, ABC announced on Aug. 26.<\/p>\n

They’re the first two celebs to join the cast, competing for the approval of\u00a0judges\u00a0Len Goodman<\/strong>,\u00a0Derek Hough<\/strong>,\u00a0Carrie Ann Inaba<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Bruno Tonioli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

JoJo, who introduced the world to\u00a0girlfriend\u00a0Kylie Prew<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0earlier this year,\u00a0will be the first-ever contestant to have a same-sex dance partner on the show, according to\u00a0USA Today<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0“We’re making history,” JoJo, 18, told the outlet. “This has never happened on\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/em>\u00a0before. It’s always been a boy-girl couple.”<\/p>\n

She said her journey of coming out and having a\u00a0girlfriend has “inspired so many people around the world,” explaining, “I thought that if I chose to dance with a girl on this show, it would break the stereotypical thing. It would be new, different and change for the better.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

She reflected on the history-making moment in a\u00a0Twitter<\/a>\u00a0video, saying, “To be dancing with a girl, I think it’s so cool.”\u00a0JoJo added, “It’s gonna be the best ever. I can’t wait to just dance every single week. I can’t wait to meet my partner.”<\/p>\n

JoJo has been keeping her moves sharp on TikTok after years of showing her stuff on TV. It’s been two years since the influencer last appeared on\u00a0Dance Moms Funniest Fights<\/em>,\u00a0The JoJo & BowBow Show Show<\/em>,\u00a0Dance Moms<\/em>, and\u00a0JoJo’s Livin’ the D.R.E.A.M<\/em>.<\/em>\u00a0However, fans will remember her performance as the T-Rex on\u00a0The Masked Singer<\/em>\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Suni, also 18, recently started her freshman year of\u00a0college at Auburn University<\/a>\u00a0after she returned home from a triumphant turn at the 2020 Tokyo\u00a0Olympics<\/a>. She became a breakout star by winning gold in the gymnastics all-around, silver in the team final and bronze on the uneven bars, after\u00a0Simone Biles<\/strong>\u00a0withdrew<\/a>\u00a0from the events.<\/p>\n

She follows in the footsteps of yet another Olympic gymnast that has made her way to the\u00a0DWTS<\/em>\u00a0ballroom.\u00a0Shawn Johnson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0competed in 2009 and 2012, placing first and second, respectively.<\/p>\n

“See y’all on the dance floor,” Suni said in a teaser video on\u00a0Twitter<\/a>, before thanking fans\u00a0on her Instagram Story: “WOULDNT BE HERE WITHOUT U GUYS.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Kaitlyn<\/strong>\u00a0Bristowe<\/strong>\u00a0and pro dancer\u00a0Artem Chigvintsev<\/strong>\u00a0took home the crown on season 29.<\/p>\n
