Demi Lovato is breaking the silence after her overdose and hospitalization. The singer took to social media to post a message in which she thanked her many followers for their support.
Demi also promised her loyal fans that she ‘will keep fighting.’
‘I’ve always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I have learned is that this illness isn’t something that disappears or fades with time. It’s something I must continue to overcome and haven’t done yet.’
Lovato, who has been in the hospital for no less than 12 days, went on to show her gratitude towards everyone who has been supporting her through this dark time.
‘I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I’m forever grateful for all your love and your support throughout this past week and beyond. Your thoughts and your prayers have helped me navigate this difficult time. I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who’ve been by my side this entire time. Without them, I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.’
She continued by saying that ‘I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and my road to recovery. The love that you have all shown me will never be forgotten, and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.’
The star should be leaving the hospital in the following days.
