The wedding of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth was supposed to stay quiet, unfortunately, an over-excited friend shared the news on social media a little too quickly.
Miley’s sister, Brandi, explained on her podcast that the couple had always wanted a small wedding and had hoped to keep it a family secret until they were ready to share the news.
On her Your Favorite Thing podcast, Brandi said: “Whenever they’ve talked about getting married, they’ve always wanted to keep it very small and it just be the family and just be at the house. That’s always been what they wanted. Honestly, Miley’s only friend that was there was her best friend, Jessie, and Liam had a handful of his friends there that were there from Australia.”
She continued on, adding that only “a very, very small, tight-knit group of people” were invited. “Even with family and close friends, they still made a point to say, ‘Hey guys, this is a private thing for a reason. We love you all, but please don’t take photos.’”
Close friend to Liam, Conrad Carr, was the one who first leaked the footage but Brandi noted the he “feels really bad” and that they forgot to tell him not to post anything.
Even if the public did find out early, Miley “doesn’t really care” that it was the way the world found out she got married.
