After Saying She Would Never Attend The Met Gala Again, Gwyneth Paltrow Showed Up
Gwyneth Paltrow and her new hubby Brad Falchuck walked the pink carpet at the 2019 Met Gala.
The actress, who stunned in a sheer yellow maxi dress inspired by the campy “Valley of the Dolls”, seemed to be happy to be back despite famously slamming the event.
In 2013, Paltrow told USA Today, “I’m never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.”
Although over the years Paltrow has remained friends with Anna Wintour and has appeared on many Vogue covers, so clearly Wintour didn’t take those words to heart.
Other stars have also expressed their distaste for the gala, only to return.
Amy Schumer once said the evening “felt like a punishment,” while a Lenny Letter essay penned by Lena Dunham read “I attempted to grind my a** on Michael B. Jordan for an additional 20 minutes and then left right after [Amy].” Both ladies came back the following year.
