Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom got engaged earlier this year on Valentine’s Day, and ever since then, fans have been dying for the details. Now, the pop star is finally dishing.
Perry stopped by Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp on Friday (May 31) to talk about her brand-new single, “Never Really Over,” and soon jumped into the story behind the romantic proposal, which turned out to be very extra, for lack of a better word.
According to the singer, Bloom was “so nervous” on the special day.
“It was Valentine’s Day and I had to work that day,” she said. “I just remember meeting him at dinner at this place, this Italian restaurant, because when I get a pass, I just want to stuff my face with pasta.
“So I get there and, I mean, he’s like clean-shaven. He’s not wearing tennis shoes. I’m like, ‘Ah shit, something is going down!’” Perry laughed. “We were ordering everything and I was like, ‘Who is this person?!’”
After that, Bloom brought Perry onto a helicopter. After she got on, he asked her to marry him. “Then we landed on this building and then went downstairs and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen,” she said.
“It’s like when Kanye does that for Kim, you’re like, ‘Oh my God!’”
Kanye West has been known to pull out all the stops for Kim Kardashian. Earlier this year on Valentine’s Day, he surprised her with a room full of red, white and pink roses — and a private performance from saxophonist Kenny G.
“Anyways, it’s great. He’s great. I love him very much,” Perry added.
